From the 9th to the 13th of May 2022, the heads of the Guidance Departments of the IES GALILEO GALILEI, Maribel Campos, and of Coexistence and Equality, Silvia Blanco, visited the Dr. Alberto Iria Schools Group in Olhăo (Portugal), participating in an Erasmus+ program, to deepen the knowledge and experience of the Quiet Time with Transcendental Meditation (QT/TM) programme applied to educational centers.

During this visit, the invited teachers sought to connect with and gain a deep understanding of the pedagogical strategy of QT/TM , applied in the classroom context with students. They had the opportunity to visit and participate in Quiet Time/TM sessions in various classes within this school group, including 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 8th-grade classes. They also engaged in conversations with students and teachers to gather their experiences.

The visit program also included a trip to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Algarve, where they met with the director of the faculty, Dr. Luís Sérgio Vieira, to learn about the scientific studies conducted as part of the EUROPE and FRIENDS projects. These studies aimed to assess the impact of Quiet Time/TM in the school context.”
